A moped is a compact motorcycle designed to provide economical and relatively safe transport with minimal licensing requirements.

Mopeds were once all equipped with bicycle-like pedals (the source of the term, motor + pedal), but moped has been increasingly applied by governments to vehicles without pedals, based on their restricted engine displacement, speed, and/or power output. Mopeds occasionally resemble powered bicycles, but most are now step-through designs (of both kinds, having either large or small wheels) and step-over designs similar to a regular motorcycle. Although mopeds usually have two wheels, in some jurisdictions low-powered three- or four-wheeled vehicles are also classified as mopeds.

In most countries, the legal driving age for a moped is lower than for regular motorcycles and cars. Mopeds are typically restricted to 45 km/h (28 mph) or 50 km/h (31 mph) from a maximum displacement of 49 cc (3.0 cu in), though there are a few variations.

This is a Rat moped project in Uroš Štrubelj style. He bought this oldy for a daily ride to his job and back. He likes old rusty rolling things so the rat style was a reasonable choice. All together was an experiment and all the colours he used ware sitting in his garage. At the junk yard he found the head lamp and handlebar, he bought a new tires, custom draw a white line/wall on them, and he added shiny exhaust. He needed a place for keys, wallet and other pocket stuff, so he built out of bare metal sheets a cool boxes and placed them on the rack. For the final touch he made two little tears for the fenders and added big horns. The horns are so funny, Uroš like them a lot.

Once at the local market store older man saw this rat machine and wanted to bought it. Uroš said no, so hi said it’s a really nice old moped and do not, do not paint it, he really believe that it’s an old rusty ride. Uroš was excited. But after all he sold this little rat and bought a scooter. He has a plans for that plastic thing too, a Mad Max style, but like we all he has no over time to start the project. Uroš we are waiting, take the time machine in your hands and build something for your soul and also for us!!

S samo industrializacijo je stopila tehnika v središče naših življenj: z novim razumevanjem tehnologij in vse večjo računalniško podporo različnih sistemov proizvodnje, vrednotenja, evidentiranja,…, je nujno potrebno vso kulturno in tehnično dediščino že z vidika zdravega razvoja človeštva kategorično sintetizirati v samo ljudsko podzavest in miselnost. Poznavanje zgodovine nam omogoča razumevanje sedanjosti in nam istočasno omogoča »videnje« v prihodnost.

Danes se vedno bolj razlikujemo po tistem kar imamo: nekateri imajo vse, drugi vedno manj, vozila še vedno ostajajo povezovalni člen med vsemi ekonomskimi razredi, industrijsko razvitimi narodi in tistimi v razvoju. Čeprav so izhodišča proizvodnje vozil bila mogoče v njihovih začetkih različna (evropski trg je zaznamovala bolj kulturno-umetniška, torej estetska, ameriški pa že od začetka popularistično-industrijska proizvodnja), se glede na sam razvoj industrije kmalu smeri poenotijo in sledijo skupnemu cilju: to je hitrejšemu prevozu ljudi ali tovora na daljše razdalje. Tekmovalnost je silila proizvajalce vozil k drznejšemu in inovativnemu razmišljanju po nadgradnji in dovršenosti motorjev kot tudi same oblike, po preizkušanju novih materialov in tekočin. Znanje in izkušnje so bile prenesene posredno tudi na serijska vozila. Prav ta serijska proizvodnja in vse večja konkurenca sta silili k nižjim cenam vozil na trgu, torej širšemu spektru uporabnikov. Industrija motornih vozil je pripeljala do novih delovnih mest, razvoja podeželja, cestnih povezav, razvoja naftne industrije, idr. Danes si življenja brez tega »družinskega člana« enostavno ne znamo več predstavljati, postal je del našega vsakdana, nuje in razvade. Vozila, za nekatere zgolj stara vozila, za druge zbirateljski predmeti, ki jih danes pod predpostavko, da izpolnjujejo določene kriterije, opredeljujemo kot starodobna vozila, so tako viri in dokazi človeške zgodovine in kulture, ne glede na njihov izvor in razvoj. Motorna vozila so spremenila potek zgodovine bolj kot katerakoli iznajdba kadarkoli prej!

Slovenska veteranska avto moto zveza se je odločila, da ta segment zgodovine približa širši javnosti. Pripravili smo zanimiva strokovna predavanja in večer namenjen druženju in izmenjavi mnenj, zgodb, zamisli.
