CABIN FEVER: custom Honda XR650


‘Cabin Fever’ is based on a Honda XR650. It has a new subframe, suspended by twin YSS shocks. A custom seat, the front end now sports LSL Street Low bars—with brown Tommaselli grips—behind a Hella 500 Black Magic headlight. A compact Shorai battery hides in an aluminum box under the seat. Daniel Peter has ditched the stock 40mm Keihin CV carb and installed a 41mm Keihin FCR-MX flat slide, supplied with fuel via a high flow Pingel petcock.

Gases now exit through a high-ridin’ custom exhaust: The 2-into-1 header has a slip-fit mid pipe, terminated with a 1.75” Cone Engineering muffler.
The front end now sports LSL Street Low bars—with brown Tommaselli grips—behind a Hella 500 Black Magic headlight. A compact Shorai battery hides in an aluminum box under the seat.

Bigger upgrades were reserved for the suspension and brakes. Daniel has lowered the lofty stock forks by three inches, fitting stiffer springs and Race Tech Gold Valves for better damping. Stopping power now comes from 4-piston Brembo calipers, clamping on a 320mm floating front rotor taken from a Husqvarna SM610. Daniel Peter has just ramped up the fun factor a notch—and turned the ugly duckling into a swan.

Honda 250 city scrambler

One of our latest built is custom Honda CJ250 into Honda 250 city scrambler. what was done: custom paint job “mexican blanquet” by talented Mitch Art. Renthal gold lowriser handlebar, Biltwell grips, small speedo, Hel performance Slovenia front brake line in gold/black edition, custom rack, seat, fenders, small front and rear (with grill) lights, black alu mirrors, mini battery and all the electric wiring under the seat, Dunlop D602 tires – same size back and front… little toy for city streets without any limits and with kick start only! Honda CLR125 Scrambler

“The list of what in Dream Wheels Heritage changed is pretty lengthy. Basically, it started with a new sub-frame, seat, fenders, and the restoration of a Yamaha FS1 tank from the 90s. They customized an ex-fridge magnet to make the gas cap. The new handlebars are a Renthal ‘Fatbar’ model. Then they added a new headlight and an oval front plate.

The tires are Heidenau K67s and the front 18” wheel is from an Yamaha XS400, also there is new 18″ rims and spokes at the back, and finished them off with some red spoke clamps.”

‘The front brake and disc are also from a Yamaha XS400. The fork is a reworked set from a Suzuki RMX 50. New NGK spark cable was added, along with some new air filters from K&N. In Dream Wheels Heritage used some new light switches and a horn from Blitz Motorcycles because we really like their stuff.

To finish, they added a new LED brake light, lowered the whole thing about 10cm and added a used FMF Mega Max II exhaust with a new, handmade collector.”
